- Mixed with aggregate and other ingredients to make concrete mix, mortar mix and base coat stucco
- Mix three parts gravel, two parts all-purpose sand and one part Portland cement (by volume) to obtain a concrete mix
- Mix 3.5 to 4.5 parts masonry sand, 1/2 part hydrated lime, one part Portland cement (by volume) to obtain Type S mortar
